Privacy policy

• When you create an account: your name, phone number and password (we store only a scrambled form of your password, never the password itself), your email address if you give one, and whether you are an individual owner, an agent or an agency.
• If you add them to your profile: a profile photo, your WhatsApp number, a short bio and your company name.
• To get verified: a photo of your national ID, passport or business registration.
• When you list a property: its photos, description, price, neighborhood, landmark, map location and nearby places. We remove hidden location data from photos when you upload them.
• When you use Yobaai: your chats, booking requests and reviews, the listings you save, the reports you make, and when you tap Call, WhatsApp or Message on a listing (so owners can see how many people contacted them).
• From your phone or browser: a notification token if you allow notifications, and your IP address and type of device or browser, to keep accounts secure and stop abuse.

The app never uses your phone’s location. On the website, if you choose “Use my current location” while listing a property, your browser shares your location once to place the property on the map. We do not collect your contacts or an advertising ID, we do not show ads, and we do not sell your information.

• To run your account: sign you in, send you verification codes by SMS or email, and keep you signed in.
• To show your listings and connect you with people who are interested in them.
• To deliver your messages, booking requests and notifications.
• To check identity documents and show a verified badge on verified accounts.
• To keep Yobaai safe: review listings and reports, stop scams and spam, and suspend accounts that break our Terms of use.

• Everyone: your listings (photos, details, price, area and map location) and your public profile: name, profile photo, bio, company name, account type, verified badge and the year you joined. Reviews you write show your name.
• People you deal with: when someone signed in taps Call or WhatsApp on your listing, they see your phone or WhatsApp number. The people you chat with see your messages. Once a booking is confirmed, the guest and the host see each other’s phone number.
• Yobaai’s team: we review listings, ID documents and reports. ID documents are never public; only our team can open them, and every time they do is recorded. If someone reports a person from a chat, our team reads the latest messages of that chat to decide what to do.
• Companies that run parts of Yobaai for us, only so they can provide their service: hosting for our servers, database, website and photos; SMS and email delivery for verification codes; and Google Firebase and Expo, which deliver push notifications (including the notification’s text).
• The authorities, only when the law requires us to.

We keep your information for as long as you have an account. Verification codes expire after 10 minutes. When you delete your account, we delete your information straight away, except for the few things listed on Delete your account, which explains what is kept and why.

• See and change your profile at any time: Profile, then Edit profile.
• Turn notifications off in your phone’s settings.
• Delete your account in the app, on the website, or by email: see Delete your account.
• Ask us what information we hold about you, or to correct it: support@yobaai.com.

Everything you send to Yobaai travels over an encrypted connection. Passwords are stored scrambled, and ID documents are kept in private storage that only our team can open. No system is perfectly secure, so use a password you don’t use anywhere else and never share your verification code with anyone, including people who say they work for Yobaai.

Yobaai is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has an account, tell us and we will delete it.

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top. For important changes, we tell you in the app before they apply.
